If you’re using Microsoft Word, Unwanted pages, usually blank pages, are a common blunder in Microsoft Word documents. The manual way to force a new page when typing content from the keyboard is to use Ctrl + Enter or Command + Return. Although I don’t advise it, most Word documents have a few hard page breaks.
Tables, repeatedly pressing the ENTER key, opportunistic page breaks, excessive paragraph markers, superfluous section splits, and other factors may contribute to these extra pages.
Because of this oddity, you don’t want your Word document to appear unprofessional. In this article, I’ll teach you how to eliminate blank and additional pages in Word.
How to Remove a Blank Page from a Word Document in the Middle
It’s a good idea to check for blank pages and an extra final page when dealing with a large Word document that you intend to present or print.
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + 8 to do this, or select the paragraph symbol on the Home tab.
- In other words, anytime you press the ENTER key and at the start of the additional blank page, this key combination shows paragraph markers () at the conclusion of each paragraph and on each blank line.
- Use your mouse or trackpad to select the paragraph markers, then click the DELETE button to erase these excess pages. Use the BACKSPACE key to get rid of any remaining markings.
- If you have the patience, you can also eliminate the blank page(s) by selecting them and repeatedly using the BACKSPACE key until the paragraph markers vanish.
How to Remove a Blank Page from an Additional Word Document
Step 1: Select the View tab to remove any extra blank pages that might be inserted at the conclusion of your document.
Step 2: Go to the Navigation Pane, Three tabs—Headings, Pages, and Results—will be visible in a sidebar as a result. To see every page of the document in the sidebar, click Pages.
Step 3: An automatic selection of the current page will occur. Select it by clicking the extra blank page, then press the DELETE key on your keyboard to delete it.
Simply using the BACKSPACE key will eliminate this extra blank page.
