Microsoft Copilot is accidentally Uninstall on PC in March Windows Update

The latest Windows update started rolling out on March 11 and has removed or unpinned the fancy new Copilot assistant from countless Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. The uninstallation is unintentional and temporary, as Microsoft has admitted in the support document;
“We are aware of an issue with the Microsoft Copilot app affecting some devices”
If you are one of the affected users, no need to worry, as the removal of the AI-powered Copilot digital assistant was mistakenly done, and the company is trying to fix the issue. The affected users can manually reinstall the Copilot app from Microsoft Store, and pin it to the taskbar.
The current update according to Microsoft is applied for KB5053598 (Windows 24H2) and KB5053606 (Windows 10 22H2) accidentally removed the Copilot, but this doesn’t affect the 365 Copilot app but has created some issues for Roblox if it is available on devices with Citrix components installed. These may prevent the installation process.
AI-powered Copilot works as a digital assistant, and it was added to Windows in 2023. Microsoft gives great priority to Copilot, although a lot of users don’t want it on their taskbar, if you are one of them, and want to remove it, the Windows update has sorted out your issue and saved your time and energy while removing it.
Microsoft has decided to add “Copilot for Gaming” inside the Xbox app. No doubt, it will be a great excitement for gamers. In addition, it is also stated that various premium features i.e. Copilot’s Voice mode are added to Copilot for free. The addition of a hotkey shortcut just similar to Cortana will help the users talk to the Copilot assistant with one click.
It is unveiled by CEO Mustafa Suleyman that Microsoft is working on multiple additional updates to plan a special 50th anniversary event on April 4th. The prediction is also surfacing that Microsoft is trying to develop its own AI models for competing OpenAI. So, it is expected the AI-powered Copilot will be equipped with a lot of AI features.
The removal of Copilot from Windows 10 and Windows 11 is accidental, and we hope, Microsoft will quickly recover it, and return to pushing it in all updates.
