Microsoft 365 offers two new AI agents for Copilot: Maximize your workflow
On Tuesday, Microsoft announced the release of two new AI agents to its Microsoft 365 Copilot: Research and Analyst. These agents will help users speed up their workflow while offering high-level research and data analysis. Microsoft 365’s productivity applications help users operate their professional activities more reliably.
The innovative addition of two AI agents to Microsoft’s Copilot, as says Jared Spataro, Chief Marketing Officer at AI at Work at Microsoft: “Our ambition is to empower every employee with a Copilot and transform every business process with agents.
“Today, we’re announcing two new agents that apply this ambition to sales – the revenue engine for every business – that can be used right in the flow of work.”
Now, adding two AI agents to Microsoft 365 Copilot will help deliver more advanced and customized support while leveraging existing OpenAI models. Sophie Gray, the head of Microsoft Business Solutions, Sales and Technical Sales, comments;
“I know from speaking to my sales team how much they hate administrative tasks,” she says. “It can take a huge amount of time for [sales] individuals to prepare for customer meetings and customer presentations.”
The Researcher Agent
You can easily create context-aware reports without using web insights, as the agent will work reliably while integrating your internal documents, i.e., emails, meetings, files, chat logs, etc, to produce comprehensive reports. It will also combine the internal metrics with external latest news or trends.
Moreover, the empowering of AI’s Deep Research model will allow the users to blend the information similar to well-prepared analysts. As we know, the data collecting in a modern enterprise environment isn’t possible to continue exclusively; instead, it requires integration for multiple third-party sources. So, the agent will help the users to get data from multiple platforms, including ServiceNow, Salesforce, etc
The Analyst Agent
The Analyst agent helps to explain the most complex database while breaking down the chain-of-through reasoning. So, we can say it is a digital data scientist that is based on OpenAI’s o3-mini reasoning model. It helps to run code in real-time to expose the sequence of operations and operates to unravel data within minutes, as compared to traditional data operations that take a long time.
Two AI agents are expected to be rolled out on April 1. This rollout will be added to the new Frontier program, and users will be capable of using them even when they are being developed.
