Google rolls out 5 AI-powered tools to plan vacations

Google announced a suite of 5 features, AI-empowered and non-AI across the different platforms including Search, Maps, Gemini, and so on. The rolling out of the feature is in progress and will be completed within this week. The feature will be available in English for iOS devices, and Android devices will come very soon. The big tech giant has given details of the feature in a blog post;

As summer vacations in schools and colleges are approaching, Google is introducing new AI and non-AI features that will make the process of planning a trip easier and more seamless.

AI Overviews is the significant upgrade that is offered by the big tech giant for the Search window. It helps to generate trips for multiple areas and regions. On Thursday, an expansion to the tool was rolled out that will enable the users to build itineraries on the country level instead of big cities such as New York.

The company’s spokesperson Craig Ewer said;

“You’re going to get a structured day-by-day itinerary that includes daily suggestions for sightseeing and dining, and it’s giving you a whole bunch of resources to go out and explore.”

When you command it, for example, a weeklong trip to any region, it will generate a seven-day itinerary for your selected location while offering suggestions through a snapshot.

Google is also rolling out an update for Google Maps, and now, users will search locations using screenshots from their devices. It enables you to capture screenshots of different locations and add them to Google Maps. Gemini quickly detects the location and shows it on the map. So the users will easily plan their trips. Moreover, the users will track hotel prices to manage their tours reliably.

Google Lens will be able to respond to users’ queries through AI Overviews. Here, you can add photos of your favorite location and get a detailed AI Overview with information and insights, and the most authentic links will also be provided.

Google also announced the Gems feature for Gemini for free. The innovative feature helps to create custom AI experts such as generating a trip plan while selecting the destination and other details as well.
